SpringWorks
is Stratford’s newest cultural festival presenting fresh and
innovative performances by emerging and established artists. Raw and
refined. Edgy and elegant. Experience: new plays readings from award
winning Canadian playwrights; state-of-the-art contemporary dance;
world class cabaret and uproarious children’s programming.
2011 schedule
Join us for-
33- hour long shows- all under one roof. Performances begin
at 11:00 am, each day, with afternoon matinees and 5, 7 and 9 pm
shows; the weekend adds exciting late night cabaret at 11:00 pm.
Highlights

Master Puppeteers, including Mike Peterson (of
Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock fame) perform an uproarious adaptation
of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy,
As You Puppet, for
young audiences.

Multi Dora Award winning playwright and director
David S. Craig, listed as one of Canada’s top twenty
playwrights, presents a reading of his new work,
Tough Case.

Dora Award winner (Outstanding Female
Performance) and NOW magazine number one theatre artist,
Michelle Polak, appears in
The Hours
That Remain.

Dora Award winning company, New Harlem
Productions share a reading of their latest work,
Cake.

State-of-the-art contemporary dance by Guelph
Contemporary Dance Festival and Dancetheatre David Earle present
Women’s Voices
showcasing the strength and diversity of Guelph’s
multi-generational community of dancers; power, femininity and
eloquence in dance.

Marion Adler,
whose work has been produced in the West End and Off Broadway,
hosts a Pyjama Party
Cabaret.

miss
Sharron Matthew’s
late night cabaret.
Sharron’s New York City cabaret debut was named:
#1 Cabaret in New York City in 2010”
by
Nite Life Exchange. Not only was this show a complete and utter
triumph on all counts, but serves
as testament to the fact that a chanteuse as
riveting and brilliant as Matthews
proved on this night should wholeheartedly be
welcomed to New York and
elsewhere with unabashedly open arms.....”
