Fire... Stones...and Stories

By Théâtre des Petites Âmes
Thank you for joing us! We had a great time!

"Fire. Stones. Stories.

Three things I love very much.

Sitting around the fire, we are together. Here and now.

There is nature. There are people.

And stories. Always stories.

Around the fire, you will be sitting comfortably in complete safety and you will help us. With the stones you choose, we will discover images, objects, characters… and then…
Once upon a time…

Every gathering will be unique… each story will only exist with you, the teller… and the fire.

There will be laughter, songs and love

Join us… Fire… stones and stories,"

                                                       Isabelle Payant.

For families with kids ages 3 - 8

This lovely company hosted the "Garden for Little Ones", an interactive puppet structures play area, at our last 2 PuppetWorks! summer mini-fests and they brought to life PEKKA, their wonderful piece that follows the adventures of a brave, little turtle (Stratford City Hall).
We look forward to Isabelle's latest creation.

Théâtre des Petites Âmes

Created in 2007, Le Théâtre des Petites Âmes (Small Souls) was born from a desire to offer small scale puppet, object and mask theatre productions. Stories and dreams come to life in a small scale theatre format where reality and imagination coalesce. Micro-universes are created before small audiences to provide an intimate contact with the spectator. Our productions are available in English, French and Spanish. Our first mandate is to offer theatre for small children. This no worry formula is tailored to young children between the ages of two and five. The Théâtre des Petites Âmes will also offer productions for adult audiences to cater to the child within.

Isabelle Payant

Artistic and General Director

Since 1998, Isabelle Payant has been working as an actress. Following her training at the Collège Lionel-Groulx she stumbled upon the world of puppetry and its infinite possibilities. Over the course of six years she worked with Le Théâtre de L’Oeil on La Félicité/Dear Fizzy, Un secret de Polichinelle and Le Jardin de Babel, touring across Canada and the USA. She was recently seen performing in Woânda from the Théâtre à l’Envers.

As an actress, she has travelled around Quebec with the Théâtre Parminou. In 2000, her work was recognized in L’honnête Fille at the Théâtre Denise-Pelletier in Montreal. Her voice work can be heard on the radio and on screen as a female voice in several movies and shows including translations of Once upon a time in Mexico, The Descent and After the Sunset.

Wishing to pursue projects of her own, she created in 2007 Le Théâtre des Petites Âmes which she directs with Stéphane Guy.
