Folk Lordz is a fusion of folk storytelling and long-form, highly physical, improvised theatre. Reflecting on their own diverse backgrounds creators Todd Houseman and Ben Gorodetsky perform an improvised homage to Cree myth, Chekhovian character drama, as well as a third genre chosen by the audience. Throughly researched, rehearsed, and developed, this is improvised theatre of the highest order. Not only entertaining, Folk Lordz is actively working towards reconciliation by juxtaposing Indigenous oral tradition with European literary tradition in an accessible and innovative way.
