Blue Ceiling Dance, Squash Court Collective
Mirrors is a multi-disciplinary performance using music as its script. Alternating between classical and avant-garde repertoire for violin, composer/musician Paulina Derbez and actor/dancer Lucy Rupert tell parallel stories about the search for one's voice, resisting envy and surrender in the quest for a true self. Paulina Derbez was named by the Globe and Mail "one of Canada's top ten influential Mexicans" and LucyRupert has been called "an orchid among forget-me-nots" (Toronto Star). Together they sing, speak, and move through a wonderlandesque world on a quest for "no time, no space."
